AUTUMN BY AIR When I was young and paying for flying lessons by mowing lawns, I told my girlfriend, now my wife, that I was going over to Schwanda's Airport to fly solo. To which my New York gal replied, It might be safer if you flew higher. We looked at each other and three beats later, I realized it was a joke. Oh well, I was young. Seriously, if you've ever taken a plane up in autumn and looked down at the patchwork of fields, this fountain will sing out to you.
