JAPANESE BRIDGE We used to live in Tokyo and it always amazed me how a family with a backyard the size of a Buick stationwagon could make the land appear to go on forever. They have little tricks we'll never understand. The bridge in this painting is set in a dense jungle of leaves, yet it somehow looks very inviting...cozy, a place to wander on a Sunday afternoon with your mate, sip a glass of wine, or sake, and make out under a tree. Heaven. Seriously, this just makes me feel tranquil and happy, a rare thing in this fast-paced world. The fact that it's a fountain as well, is just a super extra!
