MANHATTAN BUS STOP This free-standing kinetic sculpture moves slightly when someone walks by, as if it were greeting you. But what is most interesting is its incredible depth! The reason lies in its construction. First, I create a large number of unique, discreet "entities", each one on its own stalk. No two are alike. They are individually painted and then, at the very end, each one is placed on the same base plate....as if they were commuters waiting at a bus stop. What's interesting is you can't see all of them at once. You have to move around a bit.
